Internationally renowned make-up artist, Carol Sullivan (nee Brown) trained in fashion and fine arts at St Martins, where she developed a passion for art history and research. After graduating, Carol took a job as PA to the fashion editor of Honey Magazine, who was so impressed by Carol’s knowledge and natural talent for make-up, that she hired her for one of her fashion spreads. The results were better than either women had anticipated. Carol had found her true love, and a make-up artist was born.
Before long Carol was inspiring some of the biggest names in fashion photography, and rapidly rose the editorial ranks. Multiple covers of Harpers and Queen, brought her work to the attention of British Vogue, where Carol regularly collaborated with legendary editors Grace Coddington, Liz Tilberis and Lucinda Chambers.
Carol’s work with British Vogue made her a favourite amongst the 80’s supermodels, first so it came as no surprise that she was chosen to design the make-up for George Michael’s iconic ‘Freedom’ video starring Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford and Tatyana Patiz.
Three decades later and Carol’s legendary artistry continues to inspire, and her career is buoyant as ever.
